The prior blog examined the seasonal similarities between the S&P 500 (SPX) in 1987 and 2025. Now a look at lunar time cycles.
The first daily SPX chart courtesy of Trading View illustrates what happened in 1987.

The final phase of a five-year SPX secular bull market was from April to August 1987. This movement corresponds to seasonal bullish patterns for U.S. stocks.
Sometimes markets can turn on New/Full Moons plus or minus two trading days. The 08/10/25 blog “Time Cycles August 2025” noted the effectiveness of lunar cycles is about 25%.
During the seasonally bullish zone from April to August there were ten lunar cycles, three were effective turns or 30%. Interestingly the Full Moon on 04/14/87 was at the start of the bull move. The New Moon on 08/24/87 was near the termination point of bull move.
The next daily SPX chart shows what happened from April to August 2025.

Since April 2025 there has been only one effective lunar turn cycle. Statistically the SPX is due for another lunar turn. Saturday 08/23/25 there’s a New Moon.
Plus, or minus two trading days targets 08/21/25, 08/22/25, 08/25/25, and 08/26/25 as dates for a potentially very important SPX peak.
